MONTANA FWP RELEASES FINAL EIS FOR 2025 WOLF MANAGEMENT PLAN

February 24th: Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks has released a final environmental impact statement (EIS) analyzing potential environmental impacts from the statewide management of gray wolves.


MICHIGAN’S WOLF NUMBERS ARE GROWING, PRESENTING CHALLENGES

February 21st, Michigan: Michigan’s population of wolves has been growing since they were added to the Endangered Species Act slightly more than 50 years ago.

AZGFD RESPONDS TO MEXICAN WOLF DEPREDATIONS ON LIVESTOCK

February 20th, Arizona: Over the last month, the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) has received several calls and viewed social media posts regarding Mexican wolf and livestock interactions in southeastern Arizona. The focus has been suspected Mexican wolf depredations on livestock.


CPW TALKS WOLF MITIGATION WITH LOCAL RANCHERS

February 20th, Colorado: Representatives from Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the United States Department of Agriculture and the Colorado State University Agricultural Extension held a four-hour seminar on non-lethal wolf conflict reduction to a crowd of local livestock producers at the Buena Vista Community Center on Feb. 12.


2026 BALLOT MEASURE THAT WOULD OVERTURN COLORADO WOLF REINTRODUCTION CLEARS FIRST HURDLE

February 20th, Colorado: A ballot measure in 2020 directed the state to restore wolves. Now a group wants to use the same tool to end the project that has reintroduced 25 gray wolves in Colorado.

February 12th, Michigan: The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is asking for the public’s help in their survey to track the presence of gray wolves in the Lower Peninsula.

February 12th, California: An 11-year-old wolf named Sequoia died recently at the Oakland Zoo. The wolf has several offspring in the zoo, including wolves Arroyo, Lassen, Sonora, and Anza.


LONE GRAY WOLF ENTERS TELLER COUNTY ACCORDING TO LOCAL HUNTING GUIDE

February 9th, Colorado: According to at least one Teller County resident, Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) has informed him that a solo female gray wolf entered Teller County Saturday night and was last tracked in the Florissant Fossil Beds area on Sunday.


BLACK WOLVES WITH RARE GENETIC MUTATION CAUGHT ON CAMERA IN POLISH FOREST

February 9th, Poland: Two rare black wolves, likely siblings, were spotted on camera crossing a stream in a Polish forest, a conservation organization said Sunday.
